One of Thayen's first audibly understandable words: "NO!" Well, actually it sounds more like "Mow," with the "ow" making the sound like in "ouch", but he definitely means no. Great. He says this whenever we tell him no; more often in response to Tim's firm tone. It goes something like this:
Baby sticks hand in VCR.
Mommy calmly says, "Thayen, no no."
Baby looks at her, pulls hand out of VCR, smiles at her, and puts hand back in VCR.
Daddy gets down on floor next to Baby, takes his hand, holds it firmly and says, "Thayen, NO."
Baby struggles to get hand free, scrunches face and snorts several times through nose.
Daddy releases Baby's hand.
Baby shouts at Daddy, "MOW!" and takes a swing at him.
Repeat.
Fun, fun! We need to catch it on video now because it's cute (I am sure, however that this will quickly become "not so cute" before too long).
Yesterday Thayen had fun with his lunch. I put olives on his fingers and he thought that was just the coolest thing. When I tried to take them off he quickly pulled his hand away and shoved as many olives as he could in his mouth. Before he gagged and spit them all out, I had to snap a few pictures.
Then I had to take this picture of the boys "vegging". Must have been something good on TV.
Finally, I'll sign off leaving you with a special one of Your's Truly. I'd like to say it is a rare occasion to catch me in such an atrocity of an outfit but, sadly, this is typical for a day of housework & baby raising. Wuddya think? Tim is one lucky man.

Isn't that one of the joys of a stay at home mom, being able to wear whatever we want?? haha yeah I have many of those days. i'm so glad i'm not the only one.
Funny, my wardrode looks just like that!
Kaila,
I have to check in with Dani when I get lonely and miss her. When she is too busy to send me an email, I read her blogs. She put yours on her site, so I've been wandering through it - great pictures! Your little guy is so... cute! It is heartwarming to see you taking such good care of your fellows!
My Mom, Jean and I went to visit Megan in Denver for a few days. She graduates in 7 weeks! Can I really be this old? (SMILE) I can close my eyes and remember taking four of you little blond girls to the Portland zoo in matching sweatshirts when I was pregnant with Heather.
Heather played volleyball at the Denver Convention Center this weekend - 72 courts under one roof. She had her best every tournament - even a few college team recruiters were asking about her...
I just wanted to let you know I checked on by - very exciting about all the Lord is teaching you. I'm reading Phillip Yancey's book on prayer - excellent!
